Beautiful 1980's black textured velvet suit in the style of Chanel. It was purchased from Ophelie on 382 Rue St. Honore in Paris in the 1980s and was probably custom made for the owner, which would be keeping with all of her other items- top of the line.
It is comprised of a a boxy jacket with no closings at front. The luxurious fabric which consists of an abstract circle pattern "damask" that feels like fine wool, is framed with velvet. It has slightly pleated sleeves at the shoulder. It is lined in black acetate.The only label is "Acetate", but I am sure the outside material is not that.
The skirt is a pencil style, with hip pleats and a back zip close. Unlined. It is basically timeless in style, just as Chanel's styles.
